Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Falling Weight Deflectometer /Heavy Weight Deflectometer (FWD-HWD) Round-up 2010

Nondestructive testing techniques such as FWD-HWD have applications in many areas of FAA pavement related evaluation and design standards. The FAA Airport Technology Research and Development Branch (APJ-6310), is sponsoring a FWD-HWD round-up at the National Airport Pavement Test Facility (NAPTF) located at the William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey.

Participation of different types of FWD-HWD is expected; there are no limitations in equipment requirements. Participants representing Airport Authorities, Airport Consultants, State Highway & Airport Agencies, FHWA, Universities, and Manufacturers are invited. The round-up is tentatively scheduled for May, 2010.
