Pavement Visual Distress Survey

Detailed visual distress surveys were conducted before and during trafficking in accordance with ASTM D5340. The visual distress surveys were conducted to monitor and quantify any new distresses or changes to current distresses (e.g., propagation of a crack). Specifically, the distresses were measured using a tape measure and were recorded as (i) a distress map and (ii) a written log. The distress map shows all distresses to scale and keys each distress to a pass number/cycle number and joint ID.
