Airport Technology Research and Development (ATR) collects data both onsite at the William J. Hughes Technical Center and in the field at airports across the nation.

Information generated across our Airport Pavement and Airport Safety research projects is publicly available as an educational and practical resource. Our pavement data is used for a number of purposes including improvements to performance models which inform pavement design procedures. Airport operators are among the users of our airport safety research, which impacts a multitude of strategic and tactical applications including wildlife hazard management plans.
