Collaboration

Collaboration and coordination with research partners continue to expand Airport Technology Research & Development (ATR)’s research capabilities for the advancement of aviation technologies. Working with others enables us, and our partners, to maximize resources while also leveraging subject matter expertise and capabilities gained through technical interchanges, joint research projects, and committee participation.

Airports

ATR partners with airports nationwide to deploy test sets and conduct research activities in real world environments. ATR collaborates with airports across the nation, representing diversity in size and geographic location. The following list represents a collection of airport partners.

Centers of Excellence

The FAA’s COE Program is a long-term, cost-sharing partnership between academia, industry, and government. ATR works with center members and affiliates to conduct research in airspace and airport planning and design, environment, and aviation safety

Federal

ATR collaborates with other Federal agencies to facilitate information exchange and maximize use of federal resources to meet research goals as outlined in the National Aviation Research Plan and the RD&T Annual Modal Research Plan. The following list is a sample of our Federal partners.

Industry

ATR works with industry to identify the operational drivers and challenges that will prioritize research, as well as support U.S.-based innovation and the safe and reliable implementation of technologies. The following is a representative list of industry partners.
