ProFAA 3.1.0

The Federal Aviation Administration's computer program for computing pavement elevation profile roughness indexes.

ProFAA is the FAA’s computer program for performing various roughness analyses on pavement elevation profiles. This software supports both English and Metric units. ProFAA’s new Multiple Event Roughness (MER) module allows users to locate and quantify roughness events using profile data only. MER includes the following associated indices: PI-100, PI-25, 12-Foot Rolling Straight Edge (RSE), and Boeing Bump Index (BBI). ProFAA’s enhanced aircraft simulation capability simulates Takeoff, Landing, and Constant Speed Taxi operations using seven aircraft classes representative of the commercial aircraft fleet. It computes vertical accelerations and gear forces. ProFAA legacy   analyses include the calculation of the following indices: Straightedge Simulation, Boeing Bump Index, International Roughness Index (IRI), California Profilograph, and Root Mean Square (RMS), bandpass profile.
