UAS Program Architecture

The Airport R&D Emerging Technology Section provided subject matter expertise (SME) and program architecture services to the Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) on the design and development of a testing and training program for detection and mitigation of UAS.  Moreover, the team provided, and is continuing to provide, cradle to cradle program architecture services to the 177th Fighter Wing's Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team on the design and development of a UAS flying program for training purposes. Boundary-spanning efforts for federal partner outreach reached new heights as the Section also engaged in a collaboration on a testing agreement with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Counter Drone Team exemplifying the steadfast work ethics required for the realization of the FAA's vision of striving to reach the next level of safety and efficiency and to demonstrate global leadership in how we safely integrate new users and technologies into our aviation system.
