Researchers from the Airports Emerging Technologies (E263) section hosted the Program Manager of Airports Safety and Standards (AAS-200) on July 29-31, 2026. Personnel showcased its commitment to the Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) research mission by integrating AAS-200 in its collaboration with local law enforcement and federal partners. This resulted in expansion of the C UAS footprint for Atlantic City International Airport, testing strategies with the Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS), and C-UAS support to the Air National Guard. This partnership furthers the core goals of the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace to advance aviation technology and share capabilities through outreach and building partnerships. The visit provided an enriching experience for AAS 200 as the Office of Airports closes many gaps in its efforts to attain the FAA's strategic objectives of C-UAS in the airport environment.
